Susan Affleck Bauer is a co-founding principal in the firm of Abraham & Bauer, LLC. She provides legal counseling and services to business entities and individuals.
Ms. Bauer has focused her law practice over the years in the areas of contracts, creditors’ rights, the creation and development of businesses, guardianship law, elder law, consent to treatment matters, advising, structuring and implementing internal policies for healthcare professionals and hospitals, land acquisition, and civil litigation.
She has been in private practice for almost thirty years. During that time, she has represented large corporations having annual revenues in excess of $1B to the small, family businesses treating each with the same respect.
Ms. Bauer has been appointed by the Courts in the State of Maryland as court-appointed counsel for alleged disabled persons as well as court-appointed guardian of the property in guardianship cases.
Admitted to practice in 1990, Ms. Bauer was an associate attorney in law firms in Baltimore City and Harford County from 1990 to 1994. In 1994, Ms. Bauer ventured out and became a sole practitioner until 2000 when she co-founded the law firm of Abraham & Bauer, LLC. She is licensed to practice in the State Courts of Maryland and has tried cases in almost every county in the State as well as Baltimore City. Professional memberships include the Maryland State Bar Association and the Harford County Bar Association.
Ms. Bauer earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from Towson University where she also served as an Officer and Member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.
Civically, she has served as a Board Member of the Maryland Transportation Authority, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Foundation Board, Greater Bel Air Committee, Vice Chair and ultimately Chairperson of the American Red Cross, Harford County Chapter. She has served as and currently serves as an Officer and Board Member of the Greater Harford Committee.
